The forum was organized by the Seattle branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, First African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, the Nation of Islam, the Washington State Commission on African American Affairs, the National Black Chamber of Commerce, Mothers for Police Accountability, Central Area Motivation Program, Church Council of Greater Seattle, Bishop A. L. Hardy, Black Dollar Days Task Force, El Centro de la Raza (The Center for People of All Races), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and Church Women United of Greater Seattle.
Speakers who provide opening remarks include Carl Mack (Executive Vice-President, NAACP Seattle), Oscar Eason Jr. (President, NAACP Seattle), Rev. John Hunter (First AME Church), Rev. Harriet Walden, James Kelly (President, Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle), Mayor Paul Schell, and Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske.
Speakers participating in the public question and answer portion of the forum include Laquanta Jackson and Colleen Roman (Seattle Amnesty International). - Language:
