Description
Moving images created by or for the Seattle Fire Department, primarily from the 1960s through the 1980s. Topics include public service announcements (PSAs), footage of training exercises, recruitment spots, fire safety and prevention education, coverage of local fires, as well as departmental participation in public events and celebrations.nnOf note are the School and Fire Safe Education (S.A.F.E.) program films. Between 1977-1988, the Seattle Fire Departments Public Education Office produced a series of original animated films as a component of their fire safety and prevention curriculum which was presented by the Fire Department in King County elementary schools.nnFilm and videotape formats include 16mm, VHS, and Digital Betacam.
