Seattle City Council (SCC) public forum on Native American history in SCC Chambers (including panel and public discussion) as preparation for the 150th anniversary of Seattle. Featuring welcome and closing songs performed by Spirit Healing Drum. Panelists include David Conrad, State and Tribal Legislative Liaison for the City of Seattle; Leonard Forsman, Suquamish Tribal Council-member and archeologist; David Buerge, historian; Bob Anderson, Indian Law Professor at the University of Washington (UW) and Director of the UW Native American Law Center; and Bill Rogers, Indian Law Professor at UW (moderated by SCC member Jan Drago). Audience speakers include James Rasmussen, Duwamish Tribal Councilmember; Edie Nelson, Duwamish Tribal Councilmember; Patricia Goldenhawk, Duwamish Tribal Councilmember; Rita George, Nooksack Tribal-member; and G.I. James, King County Tribal Liason.
