An installment of "Neighborhood News," the Seattle Channel's monthly program on Seattle’s neighborhoods. Part of the subseries “Neighborhood Project” which highlights neighborhood planning improvement projects by sector. Each installment is divided into three sections based on project type: “Improving Green Spaces,” “Art Projects,” and “Safer Streets & Pedestrian Safety.” Opening presented by Mayor Norm Rice and Mayor Greg Nickels. Produced and hosted by Kelly Guenther. Sponsored by the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. This episode focuses on the Northeast sector of Seattle neighborhoods, highlighting the University District, Maple Leaf, Northgate, Ravenna, Roosevelt, and Lake City.

Projects include:Lake City Civic Center, Maple Leaf Community Garden, "Park Number 6" (by Northgate Mall), Roosevelt P-patch, Froula Park, Roosevelt Marbles (65th St), Cowen Park (Ravenna), University Heights Center "Makeover," "The Gems Project" (100 structures to seek landmark status in Seattle as part of an initiative spearheaded by Peter Steinbrueck), sidewalk safety, and the Lake City Foodbank.
