Health Department Annual Reports
Statistical and narrative reports including birth, death, and disease information correlated by variables. The 1932-1935 report traces most statistics from 1901 to 1935. The 1939-1943 report is a 433 page history and survey of public health in Seattle and includes a brief history of the city. The 19th Century reports are photocopies; location of the originals is unknown.
Law Department Correspondence (Series II)
Correspondence to and from the City Attorney. Includes requests from City agencies for legal opinions and advice.
Health Department Publications
Various newsletters and statistical reports published by the department. Also includes some brochures.
Independent External Audits
Independent audits of City agencies and programs conducted by external accounting firms. Records are primarily financial audits of public utilities.
Mayor's Reorganization Project Records
Correspondence, memoranda, reports, issues papers, newspaper clippings, and presentation materials relating to Mayor Royer's departmental reorganization proposals in 1978-1979. Target areas included the Executive Department, transportation planning, utilities, land use, energy, internal or general services, and housing. Arranged into 14 sub-series by issue area and record type.
Parks and Community Resources Committee Records
Committee meeting records maintained by Benson during his tenure as committee chair. Includes committee calendars with roster of issues and action taken, staff memoranda, correspondence, reports, and draft legislation relating to parks and recreation, and community oriented social services.
Tom Byers Records
Correspondence, memoranda, reports, and studies relating primarily to health and human services issues, especially public health concerns and homelessness.
SafeFutures Program Records

Monthly newsletter of the Seattle/King County Department of Public Health. Includes health tips, reviews of department activities, and statistics on communicable diseases, birth, and deaths.
Environmental Health Project Records
Campaign to remove junk and garbage, raze unsafe buildings, clear vacant lots, control rodents, and extend environmental health education in the model neighborhoods. Quarterly progress reports include photographs, maps, and copies of the Seattle-King Co. Health Dept. Environmental Health project "Environmental Newsletter."
George Benson Subject Files
Correspondence, memoranda, reports, and reference materials relating to Benson and topics of particular interest to him. Major subjects include parks and recreation, traffic and transportation, and the Westlake Mall Project, the Downtown Seattle Transit Project, the University District Transportation Program, the Waterfront Streetcar, gun control, land use, and solid waste disposal.
Venereal Disease Reports
The monthly venereal disease reports include a narrative report, statistical summary of cases reported, police arrests and quarantines, army and navy treatments, and information regarding health clinics treatments.
