Correspondence, memoranda, surveys, reports, studies, and hearings materials generated by City Council's central staff analysts in support of the Council's legislative activities. Primary subjects relate to the major functions and issues of City government including land use, public utilities management, housing, human services, public safety, traffic and transportation, comprehensive planning, parks and recreation, arts and cultural affairs, economic development, environment and sustainability, and general government administration.

Biographical

Michael Jenkins joined Central Staff in 2007 working primarily in the area of land use and transportation. Michael oversaw Council’s review of street and alley vacations and skybridges, Major Institution Master Plans, and new City facilities funded under the City’s Fire and Parks levies. He also provided Council with advice on a variety of policy issues including updates to the City’s single family and multifamily codes, contract rezones, adoption of the City’s Rental Housing Registration and Inspection program and updates to the City’s taxi and towing ordinances. He previously worked at DPD from 2000-2007 as a Senior Land Use Planner and went on to become the Director of the Seattle Design Commission in 2013.
