Scope and Contents Note

From the Series:

Records in this series include news releases, communications, and plans of action regarding the film and music industry in Seattle. Most notable are materials about the Sand Point Naval Station’s reinvention as a film studio. Also included are materials detailing the design of outreach materials showcasing Seattle’s rich musical history and relevance. Documents relating to major events, such as Sundance Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), and the Austin, Texas event South by Southwest (SXSW) are also included. Much of the material comes from the records of Donna James and James Keblas and spans a period of time from the 1990s through the 2000s. The main focus of the records is on the Sand Point redesign and efforts to maintain Seattle as a premier location/studio option for filmmakers.
