Rob Johnson is a 5th generation Seattleite with a degree in political science from Willamette University and a masters in transportation planning from the University of California Los Angeles. Before serving on City Council, he was executive director for the Transportation Choices Coalition where he was involved with campaigns for bus funding and light rail expansion.
Johnson was elected to Council in 2015 to represent Seattle's District 4. While on Council, he chaired the Planning, Land Use, and Zoning Committee and focused on issues including zoning, affordable housing, and transportation. He left office early in April 2019 to work as a transportation advisor for NHL Seattle.
