Historical Note

The Thornton Family was a significant family in North Seattle. This photo album contains images of the school and military life of Watson Thornton who attended Seattle Public Schools prior to entering the Navy circa 1930. Images include life upon the USS Idaho and travels to Hawaii via San Francisco. Also included are images of camping on Mt. Rainier, rowing for a local university, and graduation from a secondary school.
