Scope and Contents Note

Correspondence, memoranda, draft legislation, staff reports, and other records from O'Brien's tenure as committee chair. Issues addressed include light rail construction, the plastic bag ban, neighborhood economic and cultural growth, "green" jobs and local climate leadership, solid waste reduction, winter preparedness plans, the Neighborhood Matching Fund, watershed management, water rate issues, and SPU's Race and Social Justice Initiative.

Biographical Note

Mike O’Brien began serving on City Council in 2010. He chaired the Seattle Public Utilities and Neighborhoods Committee from 2010 to 2011, the Energy and Environment Committee from 2012 to 2013, and in 2014 began chairing the Planning, Land Use, and Sustainability Committee.

For electronic records, CloneSpy was used to filter and log duplicate files. Duplicate files and non-record material were deleted. CUSpider SSN Scanning and DtSearch were used to screen for personal and sensitive information. Digital files have been combined into the pdf/a format for accessibility.
