Transcript of: Trinity Church Corporation protested the grading of Eighth Street between James and Cherry Streets, and the construction of a bridge in front of lots the church owned. The petitioners state the land was bought "with the intention of building upon them a large and fine stone or brick church, costing more money than any like structure in the city. A bridge, which would at all times be dirty, unsightly, and disagreeable, a sore, festering spot to the entire neighborhood" would lessen the value of the property.
