Water Department Meter Reading Log Books
Meter reading log books arranged by meter number noting name or address, date, and meter reading. Four volumes cover four years: 1889, 1900, 1906 and 1907. The 1889, 1900 and 1906 volumes provide the name or building name and often the address as well, along with the meter number. The 1907 volume gives only the address with the meter number and appears to be for District 2.
Board of Appeals Minutes
Minutes of three member board established to hear appeals to decisions of the Superintendent of Buildings. Includes appeals of rejected permit applications and required alterations or revisions to plans. The Board also heard appeals for use of new building materials and building methods. The bulk of the minutes are from 1909 to 1931, with minimal records from 1946 and 1971.

Suggestion Award Board Minutes
Proceedings of Board established in 1951 to encourage employee suggestions that benefit the City. The minutes include a brief description of the suggestion, who submitted it, the department responsible for reporting on its feasibility, whether the suggestion was adopted, the estimated savings involved if adopted, and the award amount for the employee. Minutes from 1951 through 1969 are in bound volumes; minutes from 1970 to 1977 are in folders.

Municipal Code
The Seattle Municipal Code codifies all general ordinances currently in effect. The Code is indexed by subject and arranged by title, chapter, and section. Predecessors to the Municipal Code include numerous compilations of City ordinances published between 1884 and 1938, often organized in subject arrangements. These earlier compilations were referred to variously as General Ordinances or Codes. The Office of the City Clerk maintains an automated, full text index to the Municipal Code.

Municipal Street Railway System Annual Reports
The Municipal Street Railway System annual reports date from 1919 to 1937, although reports for some years are missing. Two reports exist for 1919; the second is a report on the finances of the Municipal Street Railway System by the Comptroller. The reports include financial information (in its first year of operation, the System operated at a loss of 18,000 dollars) and information on routes, including schedule changes and revenue, as well as other operating statistics.
Municipal Transportation System Revenue Bonds
Correspondence, legal opinions, and copies of legislation relating to a ten million dollar loan from the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to modernize the Seattle Municipal Street Railway System. The City issued bonds to pay for the loan. The system was reorganized as the Seattle Transit System under the direction of the Seattle Transportation Commission. Included are documents outlining the organization and authority of the Commission.
